Gone are the days of simply taking out the trash!
By looking on the calendar I know when they will be picking up certain items for recycling and regular trash.
The garbage service here includes having the canister picked up once a month after that I am charged per pick up.
If you move the garbage service and they will move your garbage can to your new house.
Here is a garbage canister (about 15 Gallons) found in my neighborhood. It is a typical size for a German household.
Anything else that doesn't belong in the Gelber Sack (plastics and any other packaging), compost, or regular garbage gets brought to the Recycling Center...
Batteries, old electrical items, old dishes, furniture, cardboard and paper are all tossed in bins like this.
