Stormin' the Castle!

Approximately 300 students and staff boarded 6 coach busses and took the 6 hour bus ride to Nurnberg.
The Castle where we stayed has been turned into a youth hostel.

We had some free time on Saturday afternoon that we could go check out some of the sights in Nurnberg. This street is just down the hill from the youth hostel that the school stayed at.

The small group I co-lead during the weekend. Three of the girls are from my small group back at school and another one will be going on the missions trip with me in March!

The whole school was broken into small groups for the weekend. Here the small group leaders gathered for a leaders meeting.

Spending time with some girls before one of the seminars Saturday morning.

(yes, I dyed my hair brown!)

Worship

Playing the Haha game during some down time.
Having fun on the busride home.
Thank you for all your prayers! It was so encouraging to hear from those of you who said that you would be praying. The trip to Nurnberg and back went (nearly) without a hitch. Nearly because we sat in a traffic jam for an hour about 10 miles outside the city...it took an hour to go 3 miles! We were glad to finally get to the youth hostel!
The speaker touched on many very important areas, but also some very deep issues throughout the weekend. I know that the Holy Spirit was at work during the retreat working in students' lives because as I spoke with students they were hallenged by what he shared.
I co-lead a small group of six girls and two boys, all sophomores. One of the boys that was in our group is Korean and had difficulty comprehending everything. Initially as we met with the group on Friday night the students were seemingly unresponsive to what the speaker shared about, but as the weekend progressed they really started to be challenged by what they were taking in. By the time we had our final small group session the students opened up about things that they were struggling with personally and spiritually. I wished that we could have met together a few more times so that we could process what they were sharing more fully!
