one step forward two steps back...

As I sit here preparing to update my blog I realized that I didn't put up any posts of my summer. Here are a few pictures from this summer...

Before heading back to the US, I met up with my mom for a few days of R&R before a crazy busy summer. We took in the sights...
and enjoyed some coffee in the artists' district.
I was even able to see a friend from my home church who was studying in Paris!
As the sun set, however, I was getting anxious to see friends and family back in the US...

Just outside the place I stayed at in Minnesota I got to see some wild life up close.
I got to see some other kinds of wild life too!
Just kidding.
I loved being able to spend time with my nieces and nephews when I was able.Time with family was quality...
...in the a park
...at my nephews' baseball tournament
and watching my niece ride a horse (a hobby she's taken up since I've gone)
and just plain having fun! After leaving Minneapolis, I went to Norfolk, Virginia to take Level III training through the National Institute for Learning Development. The class was two weeks long.
My class posing on the steps of the Law building at Liberty University...Relaxing on the weekend...
After the class was over I was on overload and needed some time to unwind. I was able to do so at my parents' place in DC. I loved walking around the city...The weekend before I left for Germany my dad drove me up to Syracuse, NY to visit a supporting church. I don't have any pictures from that trip, but it was an encouraging end to my time in the United States.
