During our last small group before Christmas we made gingerbread houses.
We also enjoyed hot chocolate with candy canes from the States. What a treat!

We didn't have space in our little living room for a Christmas tree, so I found a cool looking branch it became the "Christmas Branch" once it was decorated with some ornaments and lights.

Kandern decorated for Christmas
Each Thursday in December the town celebrated the season by setting up booths that sold warm beverages and waffles. Another tradition is putting bread-like dough twisted around a wooden pole and baked in a fire similar to the American s'more.
If you come and visit me around Christmastime, we can go to Basel and visit the Christmas Market. Cities around all Europe set up these markets that sell a variety of seasonal foods and traditional Christmas decorations.
Before heading to the States for Christmas, I was able to go to a Janz Team Chalet in Switzerland with about 14 other people.
My quiet time quiet spot...one of my favorite spots in the chalet, what a view! On a walk with one of my good friends Julia.
The whole family together!

I loved seeing my nieces and nephews
over Christmas.
