Work Weeks

At BFA each staff member is asked to help around the school for two weeks doing maintenance.

During the first week about 20 faculty and residence life have been renovating HBR, one of the guys dorms. HBR is four floors year and is home to 28 guys during the school year.

During the second work week most of the workers returned to the main high school campus. I joined a smaller team that went to Palmgarten. During the course of the week I was able to trim back shrubs and work in the bathrooms (mostly de-caulking).

The first week started by tearing down all the furniture (which had been in the dorm for at least the last 15 to 20 years). While that was being done I was on the painting crew.

Painting! Painting! Painting!
While the furniture was being taken out of the building I was on the painting crew. Here are some of the people I worked with:

If you weren't painting, you were probably...
...filling holes

...or pull up the carpet

This could be you!

Over the two weeks four work teams from the Untied States came and helped us with the projects we worked on at the school and in the residences.

If you are interested in coming and helping Black Forest Academy contact Doris Frank at jfrank@janzteam.com
